NOAA POES

NOAA (POES) – We can receive NOAA’s Polar-Orbiting Operational Environmental Satellites (POES) on a V-Dipole antenna. This includes NOAA-15 (launched May 13, 1998), NOAA-18 (launched May 20, 2005), and NOAA-19 (launched Feb 6, 2009). The POES makes nearly 14 polar orbits per day, approximately 520 miles above Earth. NOAA (POES)  instruments include High resolution Radiometer, TIROS Operational Vertical Sounder(ATOVS), and a Microwave Humidity Sounder. Together these instruments provide visible, infrared, and microwave data. These visuals provide applications such as cloud and precipitation monitoring, profile humidity, and visualizing surface properties.
