NOAA’s Joint Polar Satellite System(JPSS) – Is a system of satellites used to provide global observations which help predictions for long and short-term weather forecasts. NOAA’s Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES/GOES-R Series) Satellites provide advanced imagery and atmospheric measurements of Earth’s Western Hemisphere,
NOAA (POES) Environmental Monitoring Application – Data from the POES supports a broad range of environmental monitoring applications including weather analysis and forecasting, climate research and prediction, global sea surface temperature measurements, atmospheric soundings of temperature and humidity, ocean dynamics research, volcanic eruption monitoring, forest fire detection, global vegetation analysis, and search and rescue.
